Wild rice (a type of grass) is of a slightly different texture (more bite), rich in fibre, & lower in carbohydrates compared to classic grains. Its got a lovely nutty flavour with a mild peppery aftertaste. Its dark colour makes it rich in antioxidants, helping to detox the body & remove free radicals. Fantastic in salads with roast vegetables & chopped nuts. To cook, rinse the rice & add 4 times more water to rice to cook.

To cook, rinse the rice first and then add to the stove with 4 times more water to rice. Cook until tender and drain excess water. Store, dry, wild rice in an airtight container and keep in a cool, dry place.
