Popular in Indian cuisine, it is often served as a side dish, or tossed into soups. Toor dhal has a smooth and creamy texture, similar to Yellow Split Peas. Whole toor lentils are yellow with tan jackets, but they're usually sold skinned and split. They have a mild, nutty flavour, and they're often cooked as a side dish or ground into flour. Toor dal/dahl is the most popular lentil in India they are also called Thuvaram paruppu or kandhi pappu.

Store in an airtight container and keep in a cool, dry place.
